The Search Continues

Hey there!
I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect before taking this leap and coming down to Mexico, but the word inspired is the best way to describe how I feel.
Ian and I spent our first full day touring five hotels in Sayulita and Litibu. Both are incredibly beautiful, only 15 minutes apart, yet they feel like two completely different worlds.
Sayulita is vibrant and full of life, a gorgeous town with a long stretch of beach, great energy, and an amazing nightlife. Litibu, on the other hand, is its peaceful opposite, quiet, raw, and underdeveloped, with a beach surfers would die for.
So which makes for a better hotel investment? That really depends on the experience you want to create and who your ideal guest is. Litibu lends itself to a retreat-style property focused on peace, slow living, and quiet beach walks. Sayulita attracts the traveler who craves a more luxurious, social experience surrounded by music, food, and people.
And that’s where the inspiration hit me.
It’s hard not to feel inspired down here. This has been a dream of mine for years, and being here, exploring it with someone who truly gets it, feels surreal.
Of the five hotels we saw yesterday, one really stood out, and we’re actually staying in it right now. Staying in the hotels we’re evaluating gives us a firsthand look at the operations, guest experience, and what’s possible with a bit of vision and effort.
We’ve got five more to see today and four on our final day, so there’s still time to find something even better. But if we left with this one at the top of our list, I’d call that a massive win.
This is exactly why I love being an entrepreneur: to be inspired, to create, to build something from the ground up that I can be proud of. There are always ups and downs in this lifestyle, but you’ll never experience this level of inspiration or drive while working a 9 to 5 for someone else.
We’re off to Bucerías now, another area I’ve yet to explore, and I can’t wait to see what we discover.
Til tomorrow,
Ryan
