Let Them

Hey there!
Hey there {{contact.first_name}},
Happy Monday everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.
This weekend we managed to sneak away for some much-needed fun and relaxation. Nothing beats laying in a hotel bed till 9:30 knowing you have nothing pressing hanging over your head. Great laughs, good food, and we even became Costco people for the first time. (Pro tip: do NOT go there on a Sunday at noon.)
I recently started reading The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins, and even though I’m only a couple of chapters in, it’s already making a big difference in my day-to-day life.
I didn’t expect to have much to apply this early, but both my wife and I have noticed a major shift in how I react to things. Whether it was the crazy weekend traffic in Kelowna or some small disagreement that normally would’ve turned into me trying to prove a point, I’ve started simply saying, “Let them.”
I’m not claiming to have mastered the book after two chapters, but what Mel Robbins means by “Let Them” is simple: step back, recognize that you can’t control people or how they feel, and release yourself from situations that would otherwise drag you into negativity.
The change has been noticeable for both of us. Instead of getting worked up about small things or pushing my point just to be right, I pause, say “let them,” and recalibrate.
I’m looking forward to diving deeper into the book over the next couple of weeks, but even now, I can confidently say it’s worth picking up. Try it for yourself and see how it shifts your energy.
Ask yourself today: where could you let go a little more? Where could you stop trying to control outcomes and just allow people to be who they are?
Let’s make it a great start to the week.
Til tomorrow,
Ryan
