How’s Your Social Media Game?

Hey there!
Alright, before I dive too far into today’s email, just a quick reminder for any Real Estate Agents reading this. We’ve got another webinar coming up on October 22.
Special guest Kristen Jackson, a Social Media Expert based out of Ottawa, will be sharing her insights on how agents can stand out online and stay on top of their social media game. It’s going to be a great call, and I hope to see you there.

Now that we’re on the topic, how’s your social media game?
We all know social media has taken over a huge part of our lives. It’s how we stay connected, reach new audiences, and for better or worse, get most of our news. But more importantly, it’s where business owners should be putting major focus on building their online presence.
I’ll be honest, I never paid much attention to it before. Aside from the occasional vacation pic or random reel shared with friends, social media was more of a time-waster than a business tool for me.
That changed earlier this year when I made a commitment to show up consistently online, not just to post, but to connect with people I could help and open new opportunities for my business.
Was it uncomfortable? Absolutely. Filming reels wasn’t how I pictured spending my mornings, and I still cringe at some of my early videos. But the hard truth is this: if you’re serious about building a business, especially as a real estate agent, you need to be visible online.
The problem is, most agents don’t know where to start. What to post, how often to post, or how to actually stand out. It can feel overwhelming.
So if you’re unsure what to do next, here’s a simple weekly plan to help you stay consistent and start building real authority:
Weekly Social Media and Authority-Building Checklist
- Post 3–4 Reels or Short Videos
Share insights, lessons, or quick tips that show your expertise, not just listings. Talk about market trends, investment ideas, or common buyer mistakes.
- Share 1 Carousel or Value Post
Teach something. Break down a real estate concept, share a before-and-after story, or highlight a client win with a takeaway.
- Engage Daily (10–15 minutes)
Comment thoughtfully, reply to DMs, and interact with your audience. The algorithm and your relationships reward it.
- Show the Human Side
Post one personal or lifestyle moment a week, whether that’s behind the scenes, family, hobbies, or travel. People follow you, not just your business.
- Update Your Bio and Links
Make sure your profile clearly says who you help and how. Add a clear call-to-action link to book a call, download a guide, or join your list.
- Track What’s Working
At the end of the week, review your analytics. Which posts got the most engagement or DMs? Double down on those.
Start here and follow your progress for the next month. See what works, what doesn’t, and most importantly, stay consistent.
If you want to dive deeper into how to grow your presence and attract the right clients online, make sure to register for next week’s webinar. It will open the door to strategies that can transform how you use social media to build your business.
Til tomorrow,
Ryan
