Back to Work (and Routine)

Hey there!
And we’re back. Golf Trip 2025 was a success. Predator Ridge Resort near Vernon, BC has two incredible courses, a top-notch restaurant, and beautiful homes along the fairways. My game wasn’t at its best, but the time with friends was great and I’m already looking forward to next year.
What I noticed most after the trip is how hard it can be to recalibrate when I step out of my routine. This morning I was up at 3am, wide awake, unable to fall back asleep. Normally, my days start at 5am (6am on weekends) with yoga, a walk, some reading, and writing my daily email—all before 7am. Weekends usually mean catching up on house tasks, enjoying time with my wife, and relaxing.
But when I stray from that rhythm, anxiety tends to creep in. Questions start popping up: What am I doing today? Where’s the money coming from? Should I have skipped the trip to work on the never-ending list of projects? It’s been a real struggle over the past couple of years.
If you’re a business owner or entrepreneur, you might know that feeling too. For me, the best reset has always been simple: I take the dog for a walk and listen to a podcast that shifts my mindset. By the time I’m back, I feel clearer and ready to open my calendar, map out the week, and refocus.
My calendar is my anchor. Without it, I’d waste hours spinning my wheels, trying to figure out what I “should” be doing. If you ever feel overwhelmed or anxious, here’s something that helps:
- Write down everything you need to do that day.
- Put the tasks in order of importance.
- Be honest about what’s too much and cut what you can.
When you see the plan in front of you, the anxiety starts to fade. A clear roadmap gives you the confidence to tackle things head-on.
The trip was fun, and I’ll keep making space for them, but I’m glad to be home, back in routine and excited to take on the week.
I’d love to hear from you—how do you handle anxiety, and how important is routine in your business? Reply to this email, I read every message personally.
Go crush this week, and I’ll catch you tomorrow.
Til then,
Ryan
